Bristol Museum & Art Gallery – Diego Romero pot
Last month we were thrilled to deliver this spectacular pot to The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. The pot titled ‘American Diastrophism’ was commissioned from Cochiti Pueblo artist Diego Romero by Rainmaker Gallery, especially for the museum. Many thanks to Diego and Cara Romero, and also to the museum.
Diego Romero is well known for his ceramic vessels which elevate Pueblo life to Olympian stature. He draws on historical oral traditions as source material and distinguishes his work from more traditional Pueblo pottery by the use of a narrative style influenced by comic books and popular culture.
