Billy Hensley is a mostly self-taught artist, working predominantly in acrylics. He also experiments with other mediums and techniques. His richly textured paintings reflect a fascination for and affinity with colour and pattern. His subject matter ranges from Native American people to wildlife to purely abstract canvases. Billy lives in Norman Oklahoma with his wife and children.
Hensley’s paintings are featured in the touring museum exhibition of contemporary Chickasaw art ‘Visual Voices‘. His work has been exhibited in four Rainmaker Gallery exhibitions including Native Color 2017, Birds, Beasts & Butterflies 2018 and Pattern 2019-20.
