HORSEPOWER, 31 May – 31 July 2024
Horsepower brings together paintings and photography by seven accomplished Indigenous artists. It celebrates the enduring relationship between horses and humans.
This exhibition invites us to slow down and visualise a world without cars. It hopes to stimulate a conversation about modes of transportation. Should technological innovation play only a small part in our sustainable future?
Ultimately, Horsepower asks us why we are in such a hurry. What might we gain by observing other species and re-evaluating our aspirations in greater alignment with nature?
Participating artists include: Nocona Burgess (Comanche), Del Curfman (Apsáalooke), Rick Grimster (Mvskoke), Eugene Tapahe (Diné), Tony Tiger (Muscogee/Sac&Fox/Seminole), Cara Romero (Chemehuevi) and Jopovi Romero (Pojoaque/Cochiti/Santa Clara/Ohkay Owingeh).
